Two weeks ago I released Caged, the sequel to Talented, on Barnes and Noble and Amazon (coming soon for IPad, Sony e-reader, and other readers), and all I can say is THANK YOU to everyone that has already read the book and the overwhelming amount of support I’ve received for Caged! Since starting this great adventure called self-publishing, I’ve doubted many times whether I made the right decision. I often wonder whether I should’ve at least tried to seek out an Agent and a traditional publishing deal, but the amount of support and the excitement over selling even one book, has solidified my decision. Every review means so much to me, every reader who expresses interest in the series feels like a huge victory. When I decided to self-publish, I said that all I wanted was for someone who didn’t know me to read Talented; I wasn’t even all that concerned with whether they liked it! Over the past several months I’ve had the opportunity to speak/email/twitter directly with people that have read Talented, and now Caged, and can’t adequately express how amazing it is to connect with people who are sharing Talia’s story with me.
Unlike with traditional publishing, I will be able to publish all four books in the Talented Saga this year. I know as a reader that I get annoyed, and/or lose interest, in a series if I have to wait too long for the next one to come out. As Talia and her friends gain more fans, I am glad that I will be able to provide answers and a conclusion to her story in a timely manner. I just hope that even waiting a year between the first and fourth books will be worth it for her followers.
Again, thank you to all the people that have contacted me directly, expressing their interest in the Talented Saga, letting me know what they loved, and what they hope will happen in the future.
Happy Reading,
Sophie
